Southeastern New Mexico has some awesome sites to see, so if you are interested in going for a drive we have a few ideas, which would you prefer? Billy the Kid country, Lincoln County, NM. This is only a 45 minute 4-lane highway drive away from Roswell. This is the place where it happened. The courthouse where Billy escaped from is still standing and there are several displays in town with original documents and items from the Kid. If you are into history, this will make an awesome trip. There and back could be done in about 4-5 hours. UFO stuff. If you are interested in our local controversial phenomena, the UFO crash of 1947, this is the drive for you. After a trip to the UFO Museum and Research Center, we'll take you to the actual crash site which is north of Roswell. This drive will take about 4-5 hours. Not interested in the drives.
